Nioh 3: Main Mission Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Conquering the fractured landscapes of Nioh 3 requires the completion of all Main Missions. These pivotal encounters are the heartbeat of your journey, serving as the primary narrative engine that drives you through the Warring States, Heian, and Bakumatsu.

Unlike optional Sub-Missions or side Myths, Main Missions are the only way to advance the timeline, breach regional borders, and unlock the game’s high-stakes Crucibles.

As you march through the primary campaign, you won't just be witnessing history; you'll be fundamentally strengthening your character for the endgame. Completing the main path is essential for several core progression systems:

  • Each Main Mission acts as the "key" to the next province. Clearing a final area boss is typically the only way to unlock new world map regions and the powerful Guardian Spirits tied to them.
  • Main Missions often lead you directly to the entrance of the game's largest Crucibles. Completing these story-centric gauntlets is the only way to transform corrupted Bodhisattva Statues into fully functional Shrines for leveling and management.
  • Progressing the story is the primary method for meeting new allies. These NPCs often relocate to your hub, unlocking specialized services, Master Duels, and unique Craft Guides.

Main Missions are also the single largest contributors to your Exploration Level. By securing these primary objectives, you earn:

  • Permanent Stat Increases: Reaping the rewards of a Main Mission grants substantial, permanent boosts to your base attributes.
  • Unlocking Area Info: Achieving story milestones is the most reliable way to hit higher exploration tiers, eventually removing the map’s "Fog of War" to reveal hidden Kodama, Chijiko, and Spirit Veins.
  • High-Tier Loot: These missions are the most consistent source of the game's best gear and rare materials needed for the Fox-masked Blacksmith found in the Eternal Rift.

Because some Main Missions feature branching paths or hidden criteria to reach the boss efficiently, having a tactical overview is quite important. Because of this, we have documented every Main Mission start point and objective on our Nioh 3 Interactive Maps.
